Halloween, Being Thankful and Celebrating Birthdays and a New Year...
I hope you all have started 2012 happy and healthy! We sure have and are so grateful for all the wonderful things we have gotten to do and celebrate over the past couple of months.
The kids had a fun Halloween, Emilia was a bride and Chase was a Zebra and Cookie Monster. We had to change his costume up for Halloween night because it was a pretty chilly night. We had an unseasonably warm November, which I am not complaining about! I volunteered on Tuesday afternoons helping to train 5th graders at Emilia's school to run in a 5 K that her school sponors each year. Emilia enjoyed coming to the trainings with me, she would try to hang with the big kids but would tire out pretty quickly. Emilia had a really cute Thanksgiving performance at school, see pictures below. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with my family and then spent the rest of Thanksgiving weekend getting ready for the holidays.
December was a fun and very busy month. We had cookie bakes, Christmas parties, santa train rides and lots of family time. Emilia and I ran in the Jolly Elf Trail run together. She ran the 200 yard dash and I ran in the 5 k with my 5th grade buddies. It was a COLD morning but we still had a great time with all of Emilia's friends and their families. We were lucky enough to have Joe's brother, Matt (Silly Uncle Matty) come for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The kids had a blast having him with us on Christmas morning. Then we all drove to Winston-Salem on Christmas morning to spend the day with Joe's family. It was a fantastic day and so wonderful to see Joe's family. I took a couple of days off work to spend with the kids while they were out of school and we had such a nice time together. We spent New Year's Eve with Joe's parents and had a wonderful time visiting and catching up while they were here. Today Emilia started back to school and I think she was excited. I thought we would all be sick of each other by the end of holiday break but I have to say I was sad when we all had to go back to school and work.
Chase is continuing to go to My Gym each Saturday. Chase is talking up a storm! He loves to sing and dance and balls are still his favorite, although he is now entering the car and truck phase. He likes to drive his cars up and down the walls at home. He is all boy!!!!
Emilia is doing great, still loving school. She took some more swim lessons in Nov. and is enjoying her art class on Saturday's. They have a blast together and are already irritating each other. Chase gets frustrated when Emilia is playing with her Barbie's and won't pay attention to him.
Happy New Year to you all! We hope you all are happy and healthy!
All our love!

Joe has been swamped with work. They moved offices so he has been getting settled into the new office as well as trying to keep up with his job. Work has been good for me, a little slow but things are about to pick up at the end of the month. Joe and I are training for a 1/2 marathon in March that we will run in together, if we can keep our bodies healthy. His knee bothers him and my hip bugs me at times, guess that's what happens as you get older. :) Hopefully we can power thru and run in the race together, I'm really looking forward to it.
