Hello Family and Friends,
Wow, it's been two months since we've updated our blog, sorry! I guess that tells you how busy we've been since our last post.
Ok, where to begin...We've been enjoying and spending lots of time with Steph, Matt and Holden Baby. As you can see Holden has changed a lot since February.
March was a really great month. We spent lots of time with friends, family and having date nights. Speaking of date nights, Joe and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary in March and had a really nice evening out together. It's amazing how time flies. We also spent a weekend in Charlotte visiting Grandma and DayDay. On our way there we stopped in Winston-Salem for a nice visit with Nana. It was a gorgeous weekend so we got to spend lots of time outside together. Emilia also got her first haircut that weekend. As you can see kids hair salons are pretty fancy these days. Whatever happened to good old Super Cuts?
April has been a busy month full of lots of exciting and fun things. Most important;y, Emilia turned 3 on April 5th! We still can't believe she is already 3 years old. The only thing she wanted for her birthday was a bounce house, so she had a bounce house birthday party at Monkey Joe's. She had an absolute blast! She also got to see family over her birthday weekend as well, which made the weekend even more special for her. The next weekend was Easter and we stayed in town for a nice relaxing weekend and that's pretty much all we did. We went to church Easter Sunday and then spent most of the day at my parents house. Emilia loved hunting for Easter eggs, especially the one's that had chocolate or money in them. After spending a weekend at home relaxing we decided to step it up a knotch by taking a trip to the beach this past weekend for some more R&R. Mom, Zaz, Anna, Jojo, Steph, Matt and Holden Baby joined us for the weekend. Joe, Steph and I ran in a 5K/10K race while we were on Oak Island. Joe ran in the 10k and finished with an impressive time of 51 minutes, while Steph and I did the 5 K. I actually ended up winning my age group for the 5k, which I thought was pretty neat, since I have never run a race before in my life. Joe and I had been training for the past month and a half so we were both pleased with our results. We spent the rest of the weekend doing nothing but relaxing, laughing, eating and hanging out.
Emilia starts swim lessons this Saturday. She will be taking her first swim classes without Joe or me being in the water with her, so we'll see how it goes. May is going to be another fun month for us. Joe has a trip planned with the guys and then we are headed to the beach for a week with four other couples and their kids.
We hope you all are doing well and we'll update our blog at the end of May after our trip.
