Happy 5th Birthday, Emilia!!!!
This blog is dedicated to my sweet Emilia, we can't belive you are already 5 years old! You are such a beautiful, sweet, hilarious little girl. We are so proud of you and love watching you grow each year. Your beautiful personality and contagious laugh are so enjoyable and we look forward to 100 more years of laughing with you, watching you grow and creating more memmories with you.
Over the past month we have had lots of fun watching Emilia play soccer (even on cold, rainy mornings), swim lessons, spending time with friends and family and training for 1/2 marathon and trying to stay healthy.
Emilia has been playing soccer on Saturday's and really enjoys it, especially since Joe is one of the coaches. He is enjoying coaching the kids as well! Chase likes for me to walk him up and down the soccer field kicking the soccer ball. He is obsessed with playing with balls, a true boy!
We had Emilia take a couple more private lessons to help prepare her for camp this summer. She is going to be attending YMCA camp this summer and they get to swim everyday so we wanted to make sure she is ready. Now that Emilia is done with swim lessons Chase will start taking them this weekend. I hope he enjoys the water as much as Emilia. He's not quite as adventurous as she is so we'll see how it goes. We got to enjoy having dinner with the Jones family one weekend. Emilia discovered popcorn shrimp from Smithfield's that night (thanks to Aunt Becca) and is now a huge fan! She asks for popcorn shrimp at least once a week now.
Chase has had a rough month of being sick. He has walking pneumonia and last week got a weird virus where his eyes were swollen. Hopefully we can keep him healthy for a while. He is still crawling everyhwere and is super fast. He has learned how to climb the stairs so there are now two baby gates on our stairs at home. He babbles all the time and of course we have no idea what he is saying. The only things we understand that he says are "dog, this, that, ball or bop, mama and dada".
Joe has recovered from his Shingles and is feeling good. He has been working a lot and working hard to get his knee rehabed so that he can start running long distances again. Speaking of running, I just ran in my first 1/2 marathon this month with my friend/neighbor, Jen. We finished the race in 2 hours 7 min. I was very pleased with my time and glad that I finished the race. :) My goal was to finish the race in less than 2 1/2 hours.
We spent Easter weekend at the beach with Joe's parents and brother. It was a really fun and relaxing weekend! Emilia is on Spring Break right now so she has been having fun getting spoiled by my mom.
We have a busy month of May ahead and Joe and I are looking forward to a weekend away at the beginning of June. We are heading to New York to celebrate Read and Anya's wedding.
We hope you all are doing well and are in good health.
Lots of Love,
Les, Joe, Emilia and Chase
